2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E
If there's one vehicle getting a lot of press over the past year, it's the 2024 Mustang Mach-E. The Mustang-inspired electric crossover is attracting the attention of both muscle car enthusiasts and zero-emission vehicle enthusiasts.
The vehicle has something for everyone, with its Mustang-like design and electric capabilities that, depending on the version, turn it into an actual muscle car. Launched last year, it has undergone few changes but has a little more autonomy and adds a Glacier White version with an exceptional design.
A refined interior
Beyond the exterior styling, the Ford Mustang Mach-E has a well-thought-out interior packed with the latest technology. Among other things, it houses SYNC 4, the newest iteration of the company's multimedia system. Of course, the large screen in the middle of the center console is exceptional and easy to read.
In addition to enhanced voice commands, over-the-air updates and a large display, the system can also integrate all Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. It also has advanced features and a physical button implanted directly into the screen for easy menu navigation.
A second, smaller, horizontal screen sits directly in front of the driver and displays the essential driving information. This reduced display lets the driver consult the essential elements without overloading his vision.
The Mustang Mach-E features a floating, folding armrest on the center console to store a purse or other items between the front seat passengers to complete the interior layout. It's also customizable with clever design elements like ambient interior lighting, heated front seats, steering wheel, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, and more.
BlueCruise autonomous driving assistance technology is also part of the package.
Electric powertrains
A Mustang vehicle wouldn't be worthy of the name if it didn't offer inspired driving. That's the case with the Mach-E, which can meet the demands of even the most demanding drivers by providing multiple versions and ranges.
The 2024 Mustang Mach-E is available with a standard 70 kWh battery or a 91 kWh extended range battery. If an all-wheel-drive version is chosen, the latter powers an electric motor mounted on the rear axle or both axles. The sporty GT and GT Performance models offer extra power, up to 480 horsepower and 634 pound-feet of torque. Less powerful models provide 266 to 346 horsepower and 317 to 428 pound-feet torque.
Range performance, however, has evolved for 2024. The big star is the rear-wheel-drive California Route 1, which goes from 491 to 505 kilometres in front-wheel-drive mode. All-wheel drive will shave off just three kilometres.
The extended-range and rear-wheel-drive Premium versions can now travel 488 kilometres instead of 483, while the all-wheel-drive versions cover a distance of 446 kilometres instead of 435. The Select and Premium versions with a typical range are not left out. For 2024, they will reach 397 or 360 kilometres depending on the number of drive wheels. This increase is due to the maximum capacity of the battery. It increases from 68 to 70 kWh for the base battery and from 88 to 91 kWh for the larger battery.
Muscle car performance, electric drive and striking styling are what the Mustang Mach-E needed. And it delivers!
